The Capitol Centre is governed by a 15-member board, which includes one elected City of North Bay councilor, one liaison for the North Bay Symphony Orchestra, one liaison for the WKP Kennedy Art Gallery, and nine citizens elected by the Board of the Capitol Centre and its membership. Board members can be appointed for two consecutive terms after which they must leave the board for one year before applying for re-appointment. Board members are interviewed by the Nominating Committee to ensure it is a good fit then their name is brought forward to the next Board meeting for a vote or Directors may be nominated from the floor at the AGM.There are a number of Board committees including: Finance, Human Resources, Property & Operations, Sponsorship, WKP Kennedy Gallery and a number of ad hoc committees including the Wine Gala Committee, Galaxy Circle Committee and Golf Tournament Committee.Everyone is welcome to apply for a position on the Capitol Centre’s board. Position are advertised in the paper and on the Capitol Centre’s website as they become available. The Director of Business Operations, who heads the Centre’s work force, reports to the board. The Capitol Centre brings the arts and people together. It is dedicated to enriching the cultural life of the community through arts development, education and programming.
Directors on the Capitol Centre board serve in a governance capacity. They set the organization direction, develop policy and undertake operational and financial oversight. The Board of Directors meets once a month, usually 10 months of the year. Board members serve on standing committees such as Finance, Fundraising, Property and Operations, Marketing and on ad-hoc Committees, as required.
Fundraising is ongoing at the Capitol Centre through revenue generating events such as Bingo, Annual Hops and Vines Gala, annual Golf Tournament and many other special events. An integral part of being on the Capitol Centre Board of Directors is a dedication to being actively involved in fundraising, participation and attendance at Capitol Centre events, as well as being a catalyst in providing exposure for the m any wonderful events held here.

The Capitol Centre looks at representation from business, education, human resources and marketing as well as those representing surrounding communities such as Sturgeon Falls, Corbeil, Powassan and Mattawa, to name a few.
Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturdays 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In July and August, our summer hours are 11:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
On a performance night, the Box Office will remain open until showtime and open one hour before Sunday Cinema (Sunday at 7pm)
