It’s not by chance the Capitol Centre has thrived for 90 years. Volunteers, staff, board members, the municipality, sponsors, donors, the arts community, patrons and many others have all cared for it since 1929. Thank you all for your support. It truly takes a village.

The Capitol Centre is an important part of the history of North Bay and is cherished by all those who saw their first movie, symphony, or theatrical performance in our theatre—and by those who performed on our stage or showcased work in the WKP Kennedy gallery.

It is our mission to continue to be the hub for arts and culture for all segments of our community by providing a comfortable and accessible space for a variety of arts and entertainment options.

As a not-for-profit arts organization with a charitable status, we rely on the support of individuals and businesses for support. Our success over the last 90 years would not have been possible without the assistance of community minded individuals, just like you.

When we celebrate our 100-year anniversary of the Capitol Centre in 10 years, our vision is to:

  1. be a leader for building safety and accessibility so everyone in our community can enjoy the Capitol Centre for another 90 years;
  2. have cutting-edge technology from the box office to the theatre that will improve the Capitol Centre experience for everyone; and
  3. restore the theatre, rooms, and public areas to their original beauty.

  1. Building safety and accessibility improvements
  2. Box Office ticketing and technological enhancements
  3. Theatre lighting
