2025 Nipissing University Juried Group Exhibition
to
We are please to kick start our 2025 seasons with our annual Nipissing University Juried Group Exhibition!
About the Exhibition:Each year, the Fine Arts and Visual Arts program invites a distinguished arts professional external to the university to act as juror for this exhibition, which is open to students across all year levels enrolled in Fine Arts courses at Nipissing University.
This collaboration between Nipissing University and the WKP Kennedy Gallery provides students with a unique opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional gallery setting, gain hands-on experience in submission, preparation, and exhibition processes, and connect with the broader cultural community in North Bay.
This year’s juror, Ray Fox, has selected a diverse range of artworks created by students in their second, third, and fourth years of study. The exhibition highlights the accomplished work being produced by these emerging artists.
Meet the Juror: Ray Fox
Northern Ontario-based Anishinaabe visual artist Ray Fox explores themes of memory, cultural and geographic identity, and relationships to land, animals, and plant life. Raised within a family of artists on Manitoulin Island, Ray began drawing as a child and later graduated from the BealART program in London, Ontario. He continued his studies in Drawing and Painting at OCAD University in Toronto. Since returning to Northern Ontario, Ray has primarily worked with graphite and charcoal, while also incorporating painting and printmaking into his practice.
We look forward to celebrating the incredible talent of Nipissing University’s Fine Arts students with you.
The exhibition will be on view from January 7th- 31st in gallery I and the gallery is open Tue-Sat 12-4pm + 1.5 hrs before all Capitol Centre showtimes!
