After countless sleepless nights filled with anxious thoughts, artist Katia Labranche reminisced about the more comforting evenings of her childhood. Nights when "going to bed" meant being tucked into cozy, patterned blankets, listening to enchanting tales of curious animals, and drifting into dreams where nature and imagination intertwined.
Through gentle colours, and soft patterns, “Sweet Dreams” invites viewers to briefly escape the pressures of reality, and to find a small moment of peace with the hope of a better nights sleep ahead.
About the Artist:
Katia Labranche is an emerging artist based in North Bay. She draws inspiration from her childhood growing up in a military family, moving from place to place. While the constant change came with its challenges, it also brought countless beautiful experiences. In times of uncertainty, she found solace in creating art. In her recent explorations in art making, Katia reflects on the memories from the places she's lived in connection to flora and fauna, creating whimsical compositions filled with stories.
