'Urban Indigi-Nation' Group Exhibition

The WKP Kennedy Gallery in partnership with the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre present "Urban Indigi-Nation," a group exhibition consisting of Indigenous artists, on display from June 16th - August 4th, 2023. The show's participating artists include Grant Neegan, Jessica Somers, and Reno Couchie.

The premise of this show is to celebrate growth and resilience of how Indigenous people demonstrate their culture and roots within an ever-evolving environment. Indigenous makers have always been taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary as a way of expressing and celebrating an appreciation for our land, community and connections within our culture. As our contemporary environments shift and evolve, Indigenous artists continue to grow and adapt to continue the legacies of that which are integral to our resurgence; maintaining an active sense of presence and continuance of Indigenous stories.
