North Bay Art Battle Packs the Gallery

By | February 05, 2020

The second North Bay Art Battle, held last week at the WKP Kennedy Gallery was a sold-out event.

The gallery was packed with viewers from all over, who came out to support the local talent competing, as well as potentially bid on the amazing works created before them that night.

With our gallery director Alix Voz as the emcee and a group of fantastic volunteers, we couldn’t have asked for a better team to keep the competition going.

By the end of the event, 16 beautiful artworks were created in only 20 minutes.

Our 2020 finalist was Joanne Abbott, who previously took home the title of regional finalist last year in Sudbury. She will represent Northern Ontario at a regional competition, with the winner moving on to nationals.

On another note, this will be my final article as part of the WKP Kennedy Gallery. It has been a wonderful year-long journey with the gallery and I would like to thank both them and The Nugget for giving me the chance to write these pieces each week (and thank you for reading them).

I’ve enjoyed hearing feedback from the community, and am looking forward to reading the articles written after I’m gone.
