North Bay Live - Medussah, Mackenzie Drive

We continue to showcase fantastic local talent with special NORTH BAY LIVE concert events! On February 26th, join us in the Betty Speers Theatre for a double-billed event featuring Medussah at 7:30pm followed by Mackenzie Drive. 

• Medussah is an electronic, experimental project from Ecuador based in North Bay ON. Medussah shows a range of sounds that belong to electronic, pop, and dance music, creating a unique space ambiance and musical experience. Samanta Jarrin has been in the music scene for ten years; in the United States, she received ­first place in the vocal contest of Indianapolis, Indiana, in the year 2002. Her studies continued in the National Conservatory of Music and University in Quito, Ecuador with a B.A. in music education and opera singing. Sebastian Gabela is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Sebastian has been active in the cultural and music scene since 2000. He has vast knowledge in music production and composition, having won lots of music contests and special mentions.

• Mackenzie Drive is a nonbinary singer-songwriter from northern Ontario releasing their first single, titled One In A Million, in 2018 following a separation. Mackenzie went on to release their self titled album in mid 2019. Despite Covid-19 they opened a concert for Bif Naked in Sept of 2020 for the North Bay Pride’s Live Virtual Concert Event. After taking some time away from the spotlight, in September 2021 Mackenzie Drive co-hosted the North Bay Pride’s Drag Contest with Tynomi Banks from Season One of Canada’s Drag Race. They also announced they were coming back to the scene after months of silence with a whole new sound, style, and passion to share their story. The new single from Mackenzie Drive “Owner of my own Heart” is available on all online platforms December 1, 2021.
