Capitol Centre Launches a Busy 2026-27 Lineup!
The Capitol Centre debuted the 2026-27 line-up of events for both the WKP Kennedy Gallery and the Betty Speers Theatre last night with hundreds of Capitol Centre supporters in attendance!
In addition to being the first to see the new lineup, guests were treated to complimentary refreshments, a surprise performance in the theatre, two brand new exhibitions in the gallery, and more! The musicians from “It’s Too Late To Stop Now: The Music of Van Morrison”, who will kick off the new season on September 26, were the surprise on the Betty Speers Theatre Stage. Exhibitions in the WKP Kennedy Gallery included the Community Square Foot Show- “All You Can Eat”, and the Solo Exhibition “Emergence and Alchemy” by Jannette Woodrow. Local musician Robin Blain played an acoustic set, while local artist, Corbin Elliott demonstrated live three-dimensional painting techniques during the after-party in the WKP Kennedy Gallery.
“When putting a season together, so many factors have to be considered when providing a balanced programme that we hope will resonate with our community,” says Dan Misturada, Director of Programming and Events for the Capitol Centre. “This year, on top of providing a diverse lineup that we hope will appeal to many, we were keenly aware of the economic climate that we all find ourselves in. We are proud to say that we have consciously priced our shows to make this the most affordable season in recent memory with our most expensive show being $70 and the average top price of shows being $44. We hope that this will encourage our community to explore the great acts from around the world right in their own backyard here at the Capitol Centre.” Continued Misturada during the presentation of the Theatre Season.
It was also announced that once the current exhibitions have concluded in early July, the WKP Kennedy Gallery will be closing for significant renovations, re-opening in September with a new reception area and independent access for both Gallery I and Gallery II. This project is being funded in part by NOHFC and Canadian Heritage- Cultural Spaces.

Sept 11-Oct 24 Gallery II “Doe & Deery” Solo Exhibition- James Fowler
Nov 20- Dec 19 Gallery I & II “Deck the Walls” Holiday Art Sale

For the first time, the launch presentation was broadcast live by Cogeco on YourTV North Bay. Cogeco TV customers can also re-watch the broadcast tomorrow night, Thursday, May 28, at 7:00 pm.
Tickets are currently on sale for Capitol Centre Members and can be reserved via capitolcentre.org or by contacting the Redpath Box Office in person or by phone- (705) 474-4747- Monday through Friday, 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm. Public on-sale starts Tuesday, June 9 at 12:00 noon.
