Spring Gallery Hop Friday night
Spring has sprung, and with it comes a multitude of exciting events at the WKP Kennedy Gallery.
We have two amazing exhibits currently running — local multimedia artist Beth Jackson’s Ordinary Pleasures, as well as Pentadécagone by Bravo (Bureau des regroupements des artistes visuels de l’Ontario).
Jackson’s work focuses on everyday events and small things that bring a smile or sense of recognition. The opening reception for her exhibition takes place on Friday, which coincides with the spring Downtown Gallery Hop. The WKP Kennedy Gallery is just one of nine free locations available to visit from 7-9:30 pm. In the midst of a fun evening full of local culture, make sure to drop by and see Jackson’s work for yourself.
Bravo’s Pentadécagone is a digital exhibition containing art from French-speaking Ontarian and African artists. The opening reception for this exhibition will happen on May 17th from 7-10 pm. Bravo is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving artists in French-speaking Ontario since 1991. Do yourself a favour and experience these works before they’re gone.
If you’re more of a hands-on person who’s looking for a fun night out, why not join us for paint night tonight? From 6:30-8:30 pm, you’ll follow along while our talented instructor Heather Wallingford guides you through creating a spring-themed painting of your own. Tickets are $35, which covers all supplies and a complimentary cocktail. Drinks are also available for purchase at the venue. To purchase tickets, call 705-474-4747 or visit the Capitol Centre website.
