Calling all artists!!!
The WKP is thrilled to announce our upcoming Monochrome: Square Foot Show, an exciting opportunity for local artists to showcase their creativity! The WKP will provide 12x12 canvases to all participating artists, serving as a blank surface to bring their visions to life. This challenge not only encourages individual creativity but also fosters a sense of community and collaboration.
To join the challenge, artists can sign up for 1-3 canvases along with specific color that resonates with your artistic vision. The task is to craft an extraordinary masterpiece using a monochrome palette inspired by your chosen colour. There are no limitations beyond the colour selection; artists have complete freedom in terms of subject matter and mediums. The only requirement is that the concept must fit within or onto the individual canvas provided.

PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS:
12x12 CANVAS PICK UP:
Interested artists are asked to pick up their canvas and sign up for their select colours: Feb 6th-10th + Feb 13th-17th 12-4pm.
Artists are able to sign up for 1-3 canvases. Availability is first come first serve. If you choose more than one canvas the concept on each canvas must be different. We discourage diptych and tripychs as we cannot guarentee the works will be placed side by side. The curator will be displayed the works by gradation of colour.
Colour options: blk/white, Purple, Blue, green, teal, yellow, orange, red, pink (Monochromatic artworks must created in 90% of your chosen colour. 10% is permitted to be)
ARTWORK DROP OFF:
Completed artwork must be dropped off by: May 3rd or 4th between 12-4pm
Please note:In the event that artworks scheduled for exhibition are not submitted as per the agreed-upon timeline, a penalty of $25 per canvas will be incurred. This fee is designated to offset expenses associated with canvas procurement and the necessary time investment for repurchasing, as well as the effort involved in securing a replacement artist to occupy the assigned exhibition space.
EXHIBITION DATES:
Opening reception: May 24th 6-9pm and will run through July 20th, 2024
ARTWORK PICK UP:
Unsold artwork are asked to be picked up between July 23rd- 27th 12-4pm
