Rana is a talented local artist who won the Clash of the Canvas: People’s Choice Award in 2021 granting her the opportunity to have her first solo exhibition here at the WKP Kennedy Gallery. Her show will be on view in Gallery I from August 31st-4th during the Capitol Centres annual BluesFest.
What is Clash of the Canvas you ask!?! It is a live painting competition showcasing local visual artists! During the event you will be immersed in Blues music while eight visual artists create ‘Blues inspired’ artwork right before your eyes in just 20 minutes!
It will then be up to you, the audience, to help determine who moves on to the second round, where those artists will paint again for your votes to win the title. YOU- The ticket holders have the power to decide who will be crowned the new Clash of the Canvas Champion and receive their own solo show in 2023!
Fun fact- Did you know that Rana Thomas will be competing once again to defend her title? We cant wait! We have a very strong line up of artists this year so we highly recommend coming out to support these incredibly talented individuals!
